Our Mission

Our mission is to transform the lives of girls in foster care by fostering empowering relationships, building confidence, and providing comprehensive support. We prioritize education, economic empowerment, and personal presentation, equipping girls with the tools for academic, financial, and professional success. Through our “GLAM IT UP” program, we boost self-esteem and celebrate individuality, preparing young women to navigate life with resilience and determination. By enhancing their skills and supporting their aspirations, we aim to empower them to lead fulfilling and successful lives.

Thrive with Confidence, Resilience, and Purpose.

Our Founder

Marlo Hampton, the powerhouse behind Glam It Up, Inc., founded this 501(c)(3) organization in 2011 with a mission to inspire and empower young girls in the foster care system to rise above their circumstances and excel in every area of life. Drawing from her personal journey, Marlo passionately states, “I wanted to give young girls the guidance and the chances I didn’t have growing up in foster care, and hopefully they will pass it on to the next generation of young women.”

Marlo’s story is one of resilience and triumph. Growing up as a ward of the state due to her mother’s struggles with addiction and abuse, she experienced firsthand the challenges of the foster care system. Despite these obstacles, Marlo aged out of care and defied the odds by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Interdisciplinary Science from the University of South Florida.

Leveraging her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for fashion, Marlo launched her first high-end boutique in 2008, catering to Atlanta's elite. She further elevated her platform after gaining recognition on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, using her influence to give back and advocate for young women.

Marlo credits her success to the love and guidance of her foster grandmother, Arrie Holmes, and is committed to paying it forward through Glam It Up, Inc. Her life is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and the transformative power of mentorship.
